The American Charles Manson is known as one of the most notorious murderers in history, although it has never been proven that he actually killed anyone.

He nearly killed a man in July 1969 when he shot a man he was dealing drugs with, but the man survived the shooting.

Manson was nevertheless sentenced to death on March 29, 1971 for the premeditated murder of seven people.

The death sentence was later commuted to life imprisonment. All of the victims had been stabbed to death by members of Charles Manson’s cult known as The Family.

Brainwashed to kill

The judge found Manson responsible for all the murders, because he had brainwashed the perpetrators and encouraged them to commit the murders.

Before the trial, the 35-year-old Manson had spent half his life behind bars.

This insane unemployed man managed in the years from 1967 to gather around himself a group of about 20 people and found a cult where his dark way of thinking was kept at the forefront.

Manson convinced his followers that doomsday was near and would result in a hateful race war that Manson’s followers would do better.

In August 1969, Manson’s followers committed several murders to mark the beginning of the race war.

Charles Manson spent his life in prison until he died at the age of 83 on November 19, 2017.
